Thanks so much for everyone who sent in their cute Christmas Kids! I know have to compile all the pictures and send them to the 'panel'. I should have the finalists up on the blog by the end of this weekend. Stay tuned!
Also, there weren't enough nominations in the 4 and up age group, so I'm combining them all into one contest. Still with 6 finalists.

I am starting 2010 off with a contest!
I want to find the cutest Christmas kid in Calgary! The winner(s) will receive a $650 Photography package, including a free sitting ($125 value) and 12 full resolution files on disk ($525 value). I will be giving away one prize for each of the following categories:
Newborn - 3 years old
4 years & up
Details:
This is in no way scientific. I will be accepting pictures until January 5th at 8pm. At that time, I will post 'the Panel's'* 6 favourite images in each category. At that time, I will post them all to the blog and the public gets to vote. I will post the voting rules at that time.
*The panel is myself, my husband, our close family and friends. We aren't experts in 'cuteness' but we're close.
Rules:
-You can only enter one picture of each kid. Please don't confuse me.
-The picture must be a snapshot taken by you, not a professional photograph.
-The picture must be of the child, in a Christmasy setting or doing something Christmasy from this Christmas (2009).
-The child must live in Calgary.
-The picture will be put on my blog, for the world to see. You must be okay with that.
-The contest will only take place if I receive at least 12 pictures in each category...so tell your friends.
-Sorry, this contest is not open to my relatives or past Shannon Hilton Photography clients. You guys all know you would win hands down. : )

Meet Miss V. She was the winner of Vibe98.5's Cutest Kid Contest, and you will soon see why. She's got it all...the curls, the AMAZING eyes, and oh...she's got the diva in her too! I love a kid with sass, and Miss V has sass! Anything we suggested, "Come sit here", "Come lay on your tummy", Violet would respond with, "Me no want to". And that was final. So cute! We had to bring in reinforcements early...Shannon Hilton Photopgraphy's mascots (my girls), to get Miss V smiling. Soon she was laughing and grinning and giving my oldest daughter hugs...Love the home studio moments! Oh, and she has the coolest parents too! C&K, thanks for being so cool with the 'home studio moments'...my kids running in and out, and the dog! Nothing like a little chaos to add life to a photoshoot! Enjoy!
There's an acronym in the photography world, JMK, which means "Just my Kids". Well, this is a post of JMK, and My Neighbour's Kids (MNK!). We brought some pumpkins along for some fun in the leaves, on what may be that last day above 10 degrees this year (let's hope I'm wrong there!)
