Calgary's Cutest Christmas Kid Contest Closed!{Calgary Photo Contest}

Thanks so much for everyone who sent in their cute Christmas Kids! I know have to compile all the pictures and send them to the 'panel'. I should have the finalists up on the blog by the end of this weekend. Stay tuned!
Also, there weren't enough nominations in the 4 and up age group, so I'm combining them all into one contest. Still with 6 finalists.

Contest Time! {Calgary's Cutest Christmas Kid}

I am starting 2010 off with a contest!
I want to find the cutest Christmas kid in Calgary! The winner(s) will receive a $650 Photography package, including a free sitting ($125 value) and 12 full resolution files on disk ($525 value). I will be giving away one prize for each of the following categories:
Newborn - 3 years old
4 years & up

Details:
This is in no way scientific. I will be accepting pictures until January 5th at 8pm. At that time, I will post 'the Panel's'* 6 favourite images in each category. At that time, I will post them all to the blog and the public gets to vote. I will post the voting rules at that time.
*The panel is myself, my husband, our close family and friends. We aren't experts in 'cuteness' but we're close.

Rules:
-You can only enter one picture of each kid. Please don't confuse me.
-The picture must be a snapshot taken by you, not a professional photograph.
-The picture must be of the child, in a Christmasy setting or doing something Christmasy from this Christmas (2009).
-The child must live in Calgary.
-The picture will be put on my blog, for the world to see. You must be okay with that.
-The contest will only take place if I receive at least 12 pictures in each category...so tell your friends.
-Sorry, this contest is not open to my relatives or past Shannon Hilton Photography clients. You guys all know you would win hands down. : )

Giving is Awesome Winner! {Calgary Photography Contest}

Thanks to everyone you nominated someone in the "Giving is Awesome" contest. There were many deserving people, and it was hard to choose! I must say that I was touched and inspired by all of the entries and by the people doing the nominating. I thank all the 'nominators' for taking time in this hectic time of year to send an email to me, in the hopes that their friend(s) may win something special.

The winner is Tracy W!
Tracy is a Mom. Tracy is a Mom dealing with Cancer. Without going into too many personal details, Tracy is a mom that still gives all she has to her family (she has 2 daughters, 7 and 5), her kids' school, dancing troupe and others, while dealing with cancer since 2005.

I look forward to meeting this family and giving them some lifelong memories to hang on their walls! I feel honored that I have the gift of pictures to give to them!
